Funny Scenes From Reno 911pulling Truck Over
Parody done correct!
A mocumentary of the show COPS executed to perfection with fun characters, surreal and hilarious story lines combined with great performances past the principal cast. One of the best Comedy Cardinal has e'er made correct upwards there with South Park.

Reno 911!: Pure gilt but falls brusque of greatness
And similar that the vi seasons of Reno 911! and it'south spinoff movie are over and I'm a combination of saddened and relieved.
Saddened because information technology's a great bear witness, relieved because the final flavor felt similar a chore and actually wasn't on par with the rest.
Now for those unfamiliar Reno 911! is a mockumentary bear witness most the Reno police department which is fabricated upwards of hilarious inept characters and the chaos that transpires during their job.
The trouble with Reno 911! is that information technology's quick fire dry humour, and though most jokes hit the marker (Many firmly so) a lot neglect thoroughly also and that'due south what prevented the show from being truly legendary. Had it been more consistent it would have easily been one of my favorite shows of all time.
Led by the excellent and criminally underappreciated Thomas Lennon the cast is on point until the final flavour when they suddenly replaced 2 bandage members with a pair that simply didn't gel very well and damaged the final season.
Slapstick, silly and oft satirical Reno 911! is a solid comedy prove I would recommend to anyone and everyone under the appreciation that many jokes autumn flatter than a dry out fart.
Reno 911! Yous shall be missed, fantastic evidence.
The Good:
Excellent cats
Hilarious for the about part
The Bad:
No finale
Last season doesn't deliver
New characters fail to entertain
Things I Learnt From This Prove:
At some point they ran out of ideas just chose to carry on anyhow
Thomas Lennon needs more movie work

Shots Fired: Comedy Central scores a hit with this hilarious screwball farce
Network: Comedy Central; Genera: One-act/Sketch; Content Rating: TV-xiv (for strong language and sexual content; Classification: Gimmicky (Star range: 1 - 4)
Season Reviewed: 5 seasons
From the beginning, a total-length parody of 'Cops' wouldn't sound like whatever groundbreaking one-act. With information technology's well known traditions and often copied mode, 'Cops' has long been the subject area of parody for years before arguably becoming a parody of itself. Notwithstanding, 'Reno 911!' does you i better. From Thomas Lennon, Kerri Kennedy and Ben Garant - the creators of 'The State' and the now forgiven and forgotten 'Viva Variety' - 'Reno' takes that 'Cops' mold (and 'Rescue 911!' title sequence) and populates it with a world of realized original characters.
In 'Reno' this one-act troupe has establish a perfect cross between the improvisational sketch comedy series and the episodic televisions series. The show, as you might expect, is largely improved which can be good or bad (as seen in last year'southward disastrous 'Life with Bonnie'). The show'south hit-and-miss laugh ratio is lower than it probably would be if it was scripted, but what we gain in the merchandise-off is this wonderful naturalistic dialog. The coiffure have an ear for recreating that frequently witty only merely every bit often dull, monotonous and uncomfortable naturalistic conversation. If 'Reno' were any funnier it would be in the stratosphere. I love the opening title sequences.
The entire cast is note-perfect. We take direct-laced Jonsey (Cedric Yarbrough), Garcia (Carlos Alazraqui), a racist, solitary, circuitous shell of a homo, Clementine (Wendi McLendon-Covey) is the truck terminate waitress turned cop "with a total dance card", Junior (Garant) is the incompetent, fully of stories, immature cadet and Rainessha Williams (Niecy Nash) is the sassy, booty-licious femme-fetal cop. The show bounces all these characters off each other, matching them up in odd pairs and letting the nuances in them create the sparks. Thomas Lennon and Kerri Kennedy have given themselves the juiciest roles and arroyo brilliance in them. Kenney'due south Trudy Weigel is superbly dysfunctional across whatever elementary description and Lennon's Jim Dangle is poised to exist the breakout grapheme of the show. Like Mr. Garrison in 'South Park' and Stewie Griffen on 'Family unit Guy', Dangle is a character than can get a laugh from me virtually anytime he opens his mouth. It has a knack for creating scenarios where, in an odd style, the gear up-ups can exist funnier than the dial line. Merely the idea that Jim Dangle is going to prove upwards to Trudy Weigel'south house and "give her the thrill of her life" is funnier than ultimately seeing the Asian human being she's hiding in her kitchen.
'Reno' knows its way effectually the 'Cops' traditions, making ample use of streakers with strategically placed edit blurs (likewise brilliantly hiding the faces of the cast doubling up), belligerent roadside pull-overs, hookers with bad wigs and crazy domestic disturbance calls that reveal fetishes best kept behind closed doors. But it also knows information technology needs to exist more than that. The episode plots are equally hilariously strange as information technology comes and veiled thinly enough to support any number of tangential gags. In i episode the grouping is put on suicide watch for Trudy Weigel and she flips out because they wait disappointed she didn't go through with it. In another, they venture to the Burning Homo festival and get lost along the way in full rave gear. In a specially inspired episode they compete for 2 tickets to an execution with a doubtable scavenger chase. The bumbling officers get visits from the FBI, Homeland Security, British officers and in ii archetype episodes a religious tele-evangelist and Reading Ron (Brian Unger) featuring a bear witness-stoppping bit with a cat on a roof. Picket continuously and you'll see running gags and continuity coming out in what otherwise seems like randomized anarchy. These cops view enforcing the constabulary as a happy side effect to the real joy of holding their power over the citizens of the burned-out Nevada suburb, abusing information technology gleefully and not above pulling guns on themselves.
'Reno 911!' was originally produced equally a pilot for Pull a fast one on and sat on the shelf for 2 years before Comedy Primal came calling (and it became an almost instant hit). Sounds like something Fox would do. It'south all for the best as 'Reno' on One-act Central is given complimentary range to do things every week that would accept gotten them throw off the air at Fox. Jokes around rape, accidental shootings, cops planting evidence and screwing with the citizens (in a fourth dimension when the media loves to put a wedge between cops and the people), red-necks & every racial demographic known to man, discussions on when information technology's appropriate to use the North-word, terrorists in the postal service-ix/eleven earth (with the greatest of ease I might add, a subject most shows trip over themselves to run from) and everything else you might imagine would give a network arrange a conniption fit are peppered well into the testify. It enthusiastically leapfrogs from i prepare piece to the next in an endeavor to offend anyone and everyone it can and getting big laughs with it.
I largely consider Comedy Key a dumping ground, but adore their drive to take chances - which is more than you lot can say for the networks. 'Reno' is a show that isn't rough for the sake of it or the edgy in appearance only. It is a gutsy, ofttimes hysterical series in which the gags are expertly delivered (and edited together) by a well developed cast of comic talents. A real screwball farce that roams freely around without politically correct borders or boundaries, the likes of which you just don't encounter much of on Telly today. And y'all want, light-headed slapstick? 'Reno' proves that fifty-fifty the age-old kick-in-the-groin gag, if washed well, tin can nonetheless be funny. An caused taste, just well worth it.

Glad Comedy Central believes in this
A feeling of pride wells in me when I think of this show. I recall when this show premiered in the Summer of 2003. I've watched a lot of Comedy Central over the years, and I've sen a lot of shows come and proceed that aqueduct, some skillful, some non-so-good. Outside of Chappelle Evidence(which imploded under CC's unreasonable product demands later just threes successful seasons),Win Ben Stein's Money(which was quietly shelved)and The Man Evidence(which disassembled itself after v seasons),the network has retained few shows information technology has rolled out since 1996,the year the Daily Prove was launched. Just this show has survived, and the quality of the product bears it out.
A film crew follows the circular-the-clock gongs on of seven Reno,Nevada Sheriff'southward deputies: Lt.Dangle(Thomas Lennon),Deputies Jones(Cedric Yarborough),GArcia(Carlos Alozraqui, spelling?),Johnson(Wendi McLendon-Covey),Junior(Ben Garant),Weigel(Kerri Kinney-Silver) and YAtes(?)(Mary Birdsong),a la the Pull a fast one on TV institutional hit "Cops". Of course, nearly all of these deps have little skillful sense about them, and all seem to take increasing difficulty conducting their jobs as enforcers of the police force with each episode. Naturally,i hopes that the Real Reno police is not nearly this incompetent.
The improv talents of each actor is SUPERB,and the camera-work and seamless "documentation" of the events unfolding make this comedy that 1 has to stay acutely attuned to. For me,that is the sign of a strong comedy that'south willing to allow gags and plot lines to hang dorsum and let the viewer come TO it,rather than vice-versa. And equally per my previous favorable critiques of comedies, one of the more favorable qualities of information technology is this show'southward lack of a express mirth rail, which would be absolute poisonous substance to it(fifty-fifty more and so than some more "conventional" sitcoms),anyway.
With this show nigh recently going to the large screen--and the jury's out on if I want to run across Reno 911!:Miami--I feel pretty proficient about this show's status on CC(perchance wrongly so). Still, with four seasons in the books,I'grand glad CC invested in this hilarious, smart show.

Honestly this was the all-time entertainment for me when I was younger and even today! You tin can't re-create this, it was just a very unique show. The actors mesh well together when it comes to comedy; Information technology was a perfect bandage. Effectually that time one-act central had improve comedy shows that actually made me express mirth. Reno 911! was always hilarious with the random hi-jinks they always seem to get themselves in. Even til this 24-hour interval I watch reruns of this testify, CLASSIC!

A funny original series on Comedy Key?
I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it.
As much equally 'Cops' merely begs for a parody, I'm surprised it took this long for somebody to come up up with one. Maybe information technology's because 'Cops' is kind of a parody of itself; it's and so pitifully funny on its own merits that information technology's hard to spoof.
I read that the show doesn't really follow a tight script; they gear up up the state of affairs and allow the performers extemporaneous it. Maybe THAT's why it'south actually funny: No Comedy Central 'writers' ruining it.
I don't know how long this show will last - funny as it is, it doesn't seem similar the kind of thing that'south going to become very far - but I've enjoyed every episode, so far (the Scavenger Hunt and trying to pause the microwave oven are my favorites).
Funny. Comedy Central. Original.
For one time, that's not an oxymoronic concept.

Very funny, one of the best shows on idiot box
I hate reality TV so it's slap-up to see Comedy Central satirizing the trend. Essentially this bear witness is well-nigh the Reno Constabulary and their consistent misadventures.
The show features at least 1 blurred naked body per episode and uses a few running gags, but for the nearly function it'south totally unpredictable and very, very funny.
The bear witness follows the cops as they go effectually stopping crimes and helping the public. It'southward kind of random - like the show "COPS" - and volition bound from 1 segment to the next even if they're unrelated to each other.
The cast is great because they never allow on that information technology'southward a comedy. They each have their trademark - the guy who wears shorty-shorts, the busty blonde bimbo, the minority figure, etc.
The show regularly features performers Cedric Yarbrough, Niecy Nash, Ben Garant, Thomas Lennon and Carlos Alazraqui (who supposedly flubs upwardly the well-nigh takes by laughing) - as well every bit a host of regular guests or cameo performers.
Overall this is simply ane of the funniest and most irreverent shows on television, and information technology'due south quite a surprise to see it on Comedy Cardinal, because they're typically known for having quite lousy shows. ("South Park," "Dave Chappelle" and "Reno" are about the only three original One-act Central shows - currently airing - that I scout.)

wow
Equally much as I gripe most how rotten amusement is, and my dislike of actors, it must be hard to know when filming footage to know if what yous take is actually funny. Given the huge range of tones to comedy, how did they find actors who all knew how to do deadpan and then well. The no-name ensemble are all amazing. They're ALL on the aforementioned page. No one is ruining things with cornball or mass-market line deliveries. Reno 911 could hands have been as stupid as near of TVs output. Instead it'south a damned funny put-on. I was so grateful to find this series the week of the over-the-top, calendar week-long, not-stop beatification of Ronnie Reagan. well-done!

Stupid Funny
"Reno 911!" was creative and stupid funny. My beginning time watching it they had me fooled. For a moment I thought it was the actual Reno P.D. because of the COPS style embedded cameraman filming. I don't think it took a full episode before I realized, "OK. This is a comedy prove," and I was hooked. Afterward "Southward Park," this was probably the only Comedy Central testify that I regularly tuned into.

The Funniest Show on Telly!!!
This has to be the craziest one-act there is. Moreover, it is good fun. I eagerly anticipated some other testify from the bunch that brought united states "The State" and "Viva Variety." Finally, the talent is back! Each week we get to follow members of the Reno Sheriff section as they investigate every weird kind of crime there is. All the same, it is the officers themselves that are the most deranged individuals out there. From the apparently gay Dangle to the every bit worthless Junior. One of the great things is that each character is given a detailed and unique persona. Some are stupid, some are jerks, all are funny. These are outstanding improvs beingness given the freedom and comedic vehicle to be at their best. I eagerly wait each new episode and volition buy the DVD the twenty-four hours it is released. BRILLIANT!

Funny -- thoroughly funny!
A lot of previous comments here were made one-time ago - during the programme's initial twelvemonth. I would merely add to those who feel information technology's about the funniest thing on the tube - I agree!
Its times of airing seem to move a lot, and I've often caught it "hit-or-miss." But when the channel on occasion will run several episodes dorsum-to-back, and I accept the opportunity to see (or tape) them - I still find them funny and throughly entertaining. The combination of scripted and (largely) improvised stories and situations make it a improve show than if it relied upon ane of these techniques exclusively.
These are a funny and various bandage of regulars, and the guest actors take all been hilarious, equally well.
I also concord with some of the comments here which mention the fact that the "Comedy" channel has oftentimes fallen short of living up to its proper name.
However, they hit the mark with this one.

Merely then hilarious!
What more can be said? A spoof of cops and it hits all the right spots. I've actually laughed out loud watching this TV show, and it'southward been a long time since I've washed that. I think the funniest affair is Deputy Garcia and him being and racist and a bigot. I laughed so hard when he was explaining his blackness centre to the guys he received from Deputy Jones. Proverb Halle Berry was half-black and half-pollack and making a reference to programming VCR's was just priceless! Also when the kid on the bicycle went over the ledge and the deputies high-tailing out of there was only so great! At that place are so many others merely I remember those 2 scenes best. I just tin can't await until it goes to DVD. I'll exist ownership it as before long as I can!

Very Funny Sitcom - Should be Primetime
3 words depict Reno 911 - Funny Funny and Funny.
Inept cops who accept child mentality towards life and who should be fired run the law enforcement in Reno.
Archetype It'south funny, stupid, silly, annoying, and literally begs you to break the law just to see what happens.
The characters all have their own unique quirks, with Weigel just beingness retarded. That adult female merely makes me blench, hehe. The blacked out nudity is always funny.
I'm not sure if it would be successful in primetime, merely i'd watch.
You demand to enjoy stupid humor and take a guy mentality to appreciate

911 - what is your emergency?
This troupe is hilarious! I was a big fan of both "The Land" and "Viva Variety" (and allow'south not forget Wet HOT AMERICAN Summertime), and then information technology's neat to run into these guys bounciness back from being unjustly cancelled twice before.
Not that "Reno 911" has the same complete cast as any of those cult hits. The new faces here are a scream - PC considerations exist damned. The blackness woman with Hugh Jass and the blonde bimbo are a welcome addition to this group who knows funny, despite the mainstream's shunning of their previous efforts. I can't explicate it, but the warped style of humor in their piece of work speaks to me more than fifty-fifty, say, The Kids in the Hall. Unencumbered by political correctness, the ad-libbers here bring on comedic anarchy similar no other. I hateful, c'mon: the scavenger-hunt episode, with the winner producing a tattooed, 6' Jewish transvestite hooker? Genius, and all the more so without the safety cyberspace of a script. One-act just doesn't go whatever amend than this present.
Yes, it's SUPER TROOPERS meets "Cops." Entertainment Weekly wasn't wrong when it stated this prove is virtually a decade too tardily. But who cares? Comedy Central is where it'due south at, with this and the as entertaining "Insomniac." These great series brand up for "Due south Park" jumping the shark years ago.

Hands i of the best shows ever...
This ensemble is really amazing and you cant choose a favorite equally each character is unique and hilarious in their own cliched way. The improvisational attribute is amazing and you only know they are having a blast creating these COPS fashion scenarios. The guest stars really shine as well. Kyle Dunigan, jack plotnick, patton oswalt, nick swarsdon, toby huss and zack galifiniakis are a few of the best regular perps routinely called upon for their antics. Ive binged this show so frequently its addictive.

This speedily became one of my favorite shows. The similarity to "Cops" is humorous. The realistic deportment and reactions to situations is and then far from what you'd expect that all you can do is express mirth as they brand a farse of police enforcement. Picket this show, once more and once more. Information technology'due south too funny not to. Don't listen to those who watched information technology for 15 minutes and gave up.

Too Much Fun!
A neat ensemble cast makes this "Cops" bosom-ass bear witness a treat to sentinel. I look forward to every new episode. Each character is well-defined and engagingly portrayed. The situations they find themselves in are e'er amusing, and not so far-fetched as to be unbelievable. It looks like the actors have a lot of fun with this show...the viewers sure do!

An Accommodating Good Show
Reno 911 is one of the best shows on television. Information technology doesn't take itself too seriously, still maintains a level of professionalism. The characters are cliches, but they are funny without going into that factor. The relationships are key in this show and smooth when they are interviewed together. The show cares for the characters, but not then much equally to baby-sit them from harm. The perps are also very funny. Michael Ian Black was crawly equally the sex offender and the Truckee Strangler was terrifically deadpan. The prostitution homo is a delight and Terry tin Xanadu it any time. Dangle is the strongest graphic symbol, but I wish that the others were given a bigger chunk of screentime.
